Dear Brunswick Community: It is with profound sadness that I write this letter to let you know that one of our High School Students, Anna Hart, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22. My sincere condolences and thoughts go out to Anna’s family and friends. All High School students will be informed of the death by their Flex teacher at the beginning of the day on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the Superintendent of Schools said in a statement.

Region 10 students should report to Flex and will have a delayed bus at 8:30 a.m. Members of our Crisis Response Team are available to meet with students individually and in groups on Wednesdays and over the coming days and weeks. When a sudden death of a student occurs, the topic of suicide is often raised by adolescents. I want to take this opportunity to remind our community that suicide, when it does occur, is a highly complicated act.
