Kris Radcliffe, nightly anchor for KCEN 6 News, passed away suddenly on Wednesday. His death was sudden, and his family has requested privacy.
“KCEN and the Central Texas community have lost a truly wonderful person,” stated Rob Dwyer, President and General Manager of KCEN/KAGS. “Kris Radcliffe, husband, father, grandpa, and anchor for KCEN and the community, will be missed. Kris was a nice and generous person who uplifted everyone he encountered. “It is difficult to say goodbye.”
Eden Radcliffe, Kris’ wife, issued a message on her Facebook page in response to the news: “On behalf of my sister, she wanted me to relay to you our profound thanks for the tremendous outpouring of love and support for her, their girls, and families,” Eden’s sister, Libby, said. “She’s receiving and reading your texts and posts but it’s simply too difficult to respond at this time.”
Kris has been with KCEN for 22 years, beginning in 2002. He began as a sports anchor and eventually became the morning anchor for Texas Today for nine years before moving on to the evening anchor position, providing Central Texas’ latest headlines and breaking news on 6 News at 5, 6, and 10.
