San Jacinto Shooting Investigations: A shooting occurred on Ramona Boulevard near San Jacinto Leadership Academy, injuring a child. At 3:51 p.m., deputies were summoned to the Tahquitz Street and Ramona Boulevard area in response to an attack with a deadly weapon. When deputies arrived, they found an injured male on the ground.
The sufferer was aware and taken to a nearby hospital in uncertain condition. Deputies are now investigating.

The Hemet Police Department: The Investigations Bureau arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough and detailed investigation. During the inquiry, detectives identified Ernie Miranda, 46, as the homicide suspect. Miranda was caught in Cabazon, California, on October 7, 2024, at approximately 10:45 a.m. by the Riverside County Gang Impact Team (GIT). Miranda was transferred to Hemet Police Department and subsequently to Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, where he was charged with homicide and imprisoned on a $1,000,000 bond.

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, at around 7:33 p.m., the Hemet Police Department received several reports of gunfire in the 800 block of West Florida Avenue. When authorities arrived at the location, they discovered a deceased adult male with a gunshot wound. The victim’s name is being withheld at this time pending notification of his family. The Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau is now conducting an active homicide investigation.
